Women, Workers Join Together to Celebrate All Inclusive Womens Rights Event to Continue Fight Against Oppression of Women
CHICAGO – In the spirit of International Women’s Day, local community and labor organizations will hold a 7 p.m. indoor rally on Wednesday, March 8, to celebrate those who have been leading the fight for women’s rights. As an event organized by and for women, the coalition plans to play a part in building an all-inclusive women’s rights movement—for all women who have been marginalized and silenced.
Working women, women of color, Native women, women with disabilities, immigrant women, Muslim women, lesbian, queer and trans women will gather in solidarity to speak out about the issues of anti-racism, low wage workers’ rights, reproductive freedom, union rights, LGBTQ rights, women’s equality and more. A line up of speakers from participating organizations will share with each other the struggles of all working women as it relates to the oppression women are facing around the world.
